I had a olive-sided flycatcher at my house in North Perry, Lake County
yesterday. there are still a few warblers, thrushes, and flycatchers
around. I also had bay-breasted, blackpoll, mourning, Wilson's, and Canada
warblers, gray-cheeked and Swainson's thrushes and peewee, least and willow
flycatchers.
A week ago yesterday my hummingbird feeders slowed down considerably. this
coincided with the first really huge midge (Chironomid) hatch of the year.
I am still seeing occasional Baltimore and orchard orioles and hummers
coming to my feeders. I'd imagine most are taking advantage of a real easy
food source. the hummers appear to eat a lot of midges also. I have
observed them picking them off the leaves.
