Between noon and 1:00 at the Hoover Dam spillway northeast of Columbus
on January 17, 2015:
Common Goldeneyes (at least 4)
Redheads (quite a few)
Ring-necked duck (1)
Bufflehead (1)
Hooded mergansers (quite a few)
Northern shovelers (many)
Canvasbacks (2)
Common merganser (female-1)
Gadwalls (quite a few)
When we left shortly before 1:00 we couldn't locate the canvasbacks but
the female common merganser was still there.
Not much at Blendon Woods Metro Park where we stopped before going to
Hoover Dam--one ruddy duck, 2 pairs of green-winged teals, 2 gadwalls,
and the usual black ducks and mallards.
Nancy Rudd and Bob Gold
