I birded at Conneaut harbor this morning from dawn until noon.  It was a slow day in general, but some good birds were seen, as the title says.  Birds trickled through throughout the morning.  A juv. red knot was present for about 10 minutes at dawn.  An adult white-rumped sandpiper showed up at 11:45 AM.  Just before 8:00 AM, a juv. little blue heron flew by to the east.  What was almost certainly the same bird appeared at the spit around 10:30.  This was my first little blue heron in 28 years of birding at Conneaut.  Other birds seen were: semipalmated plovers, ruddy turnstone, sanderlings, least sandpiper, semipalmated sandpipers, Bonaparte's gulls, Caspian terns, common terns, 64 double-crested cormorants, osprey, and 16 bald eagles.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
