I haven't been to Cowan Lake in awhile, so spent a few hours this afternoon
There. Was enjoying odes also! Anyway, Great Blue Herons and Green Herons
Are concentrating at that east end. Where the Lotus leaves are. They aren't
In bloom yet, but the leaves are nice. Good feeding for the herons.
I hit the dam - spillway area at the west end later. Good shorebird feeding there!
I had a Least, a peep sp. - not a good look, didn't have my scope - Killdeer and
A Spotted. All feeding. Interesting.
Nature notes - I spent 30 minutes trying to get a darner pic. Can't wait
To download to my computer. I hope I got something! They will hover a bit
In spots - not just darting all over.
Good birding all.
