58 degrees this morning in Proctorville. It felt incredible!
I was hoping for shorebirds and terns along the Ohio River this morning and possibly a strange warbler species..
Great looks and a nice photo session with a Pied-billed Grebe at Lock 27. Also present were a pair of Spotted Sandpipers, and some Blue-winged Teal.
Ralph Road/Aquifer System Road off of Rt. 7, yielded (10) FOS Bobolink. I was not expecting to find these this morning, but always suspected this spot to have them at some point.
There were several Blue-winged Teal and some Wood Ducks at the pond at the Proctorville Driving Range, along with a lone-male Blue Grosbeak; one of my favorites!
Hope everyone has a fantastic Labor Day Weekend!
Good birding,
Bryan Smith
