I didn't hear about the east fork Eared Grebe until 6:00. I probably should
have headed right out to chase! But I am too tired.... I am not very good
at these big years! I am planning on east fork wed. anyway - scan from the
picnic pavillion in the rain! See what appears. Hopefully the grebe sticks.
Rainy days can be great birding! Just hard for us!
I hit Fernald trying for shorebirds at lodge pond. I am still missing Western
Sandpiper, Stilt Sandpiper, bigger stuff.... I need a break from Lost Bridge.
Everything is so blasted far there! hard on the eyes! I had most of my
shorebirds as I walked back the trail. not heading out. So a 45 minute
time difference was it? and they all appeared..... They do move around.
I still need Marsh Wren and American Bittern for the big year. Nothing
today at Fernald.
Good birding all. Keeping my fingers crossed we get rain! A lot! We need
it.
