Great hawk watching day at Killdeer today. Lots of Red-tailed hawks. One
Red-sholdered hawk was across from the Ranger's station...it got flushed
out by a dark morph Rough-legged hawk...who promptly took over hunting the
area...really good views of the Rough-legged Hawk hunting technique. Wife
FINALLY saw a Northern Shrike...after 3 years of looking. :-D

Everything else typical for Hunted Killdeer Plains. Didn't go looking for
owls...too many rifles, and not enough orange.

List below.

Happy birding and God bless!
