In late morning as I was walking through the woods, a large bird was flushed The bird was just above eye level and 20 feet away The bird was looking at me The bird very slowly turned away from me The back and tail plumage told me it was an adult bird The bird slowly dropped to the forest floor-Chuck-will’s-widow
  I returned the next day at the same time I observed it flying 2 feet above the forest floor I assume there are young present 
  I usually see them along Rte 278 before dawn The bird is getting minerals from the limestone

 Birds observed eating
  Warblers
   Kentucky-a pair was seen foraging with 2 young They were eating caterpillars 
    Chestnut-sided—caterpillar 
    Blue-winged—male feed young a caterpillar 
   Also saw a pair of Worm-eating foraging
Yellow-throated Vireo—moth

 Scarlet
 Summer

Flycatchers 
 Phoebe
 Acadian
 Great Crested

Woodpeckers 
 Pileated 
 Flicker

Hawks
 Red-tailed
 Red-shouldered
 Cooper’s 
 Broad-winged

 Black-and-white— male, female
 Cerulean
 Blue-winged
 Kentucky 
 Prairie
 Pine
Prothonotary-flew into nest box- female
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 
Blue-headed Vireo
Towhee-female
Baltimore-female

Whip-poor-will 5:08 am singing

Wood Thrush
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Ruby-throated Hummingbird-female

Yellow-breasted Chat

B Oriole
Cedar Waxwing
Bluebird

Trees-feeding activity seen
 Honey Locust
 Hickories

Turtle rescue- males and females are crossing highways Move the turtles off the road in the direction they were traveling
