Hard to stay inside with such great weather so I checked out Sharon Woods on Friday and pick ponds today.
Nothing unusual but 2 pairs of Hoodies at Sharon Woods was nice (and some mallards). A few Am Tree Sparrows were eating some berries alongside the usual cardinals, chickadees & titmice as well as White-throated Sparrows.
I had a couple Black Vultures going to roost near Denison U in Granville that evening.
Pick Ponds were quiet but an adult Bald Eagle fishing at Ellis Pond was nice. Heard a Kingfisher also. The usual gulls.
From the v nice, new observation tower by wood duck pond, I saw one bufflehead, mallards, Ring-necked ducks plus a Hooded Merganser. 2 Mute Swans as well.
Only other raptors for the day were kestrels and Red-taileds.
