Hi,
A remarkable week here on Gildersleeve Mountain.  Dominated by contopus and
empidonax flycatchers.

Eastern Wood Pewees have been nearly constant this week and today a very
nice Olive-sided showed up.  (See eBird report for photos)

Four empidonax species, including the Gray on Monday.  Chebecker, Acadian,
and Yellow-bellied have also been very visible.

Additionally as part of our breeding Junco residency we banded two juvenile
Juncos that were still all streaky. Our first juveniles in two seasons of
banding.

Other migrant passerines have been coming through in dribbles.  Now up to 7
Warbler species and 3 Vireos.  Getting glimpses of gray green catharus
thrushes. But no good looks to determine Swainson's or Gray-Cheeked.

Fall migration is always far better here on Gildersleeve Mountain than
spring.  Plus my office window provides ideal viewing and photographic
opportunities.
