Trevor Wearstler and I decided to head into Castalia this morning for some puddle ducks. We had the expected group, but also Trumpeter Swans, Northern Pintail, the wonky Goldeneye and we did find the CACKLING GOOSE.
Then on a random meeting we headed out further west to Maumee. Northern Harrier, Rough-legged Hawks, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Northern Shrike, Tundra Swans (in nearby fields), Brown-headed Cowbirds (Maumee, Magee and Ottawa), Norther Saw-whet.
We then headed to Stange Prairie at Ottawa for an evening of 4 Short-eared Owls along with over 6 Eagles, many Redtails (including one who nailed a mouse right at the car), Rough-legged and Northern Harrier.
