For a change of scenery, I checked out these 2 Licking Cty preserves today. Cardinals & titmice singing. Not many birds & the best ones I saw were by the roadsides as I was driving: 2 Wild Turkeys, N Mockingbird, kestrel. Heard Red-shouldered Hawks at both parks.
At lobdell, I heard a Barred Owl call from a distance a couple times mid-morning—always cool. Sounded like it was calling from the woods near the creek.
WPs at both: Downy, Hairy & Red-bellied. O/w, just titmice, chickadees & WB Nuthatches. A few Robins & Mourning Doves. TVs & Red-taileds. No sparrows.
The other day I saw 4 Black Vultures glide over my house in Granville.
