Stopped by these two MetroParks this afternoon, hiking around Shrock Lake &
the Ed Thomas Trail at Sharon Woods, and the Lake Trail at Blendon Woods.
Both of these walks paired a pond with drier upland forest, and both had
few migrants, and you needed to search hard to find them. Interesting finds
included:

Red-shouldered Hawk - a juvenile was around Shrock Lake at Sharon Woods

Yellow-billed Cuckoo - a bird was preening near the split in the Lake Trail
at Blendon Woods

Flycatchers - Blendon had an Olive-sided around the powerline cut, and a
Least out by the Lake Trail meadow. Sharon Woods had nothing, oddly enough.

Vireos -the only ones were Red-eyeds along the Thomas Trail at Sharon Woods

Red-br.Nuthatch - at least one was still hanging around the viewing blinds
at Thoreau Lake at Blendon Woods

Thrushes - one Swainsons on the Thomas Trail at Sharon Woods, and I also
had them yesterday on the Spring Creek Trail there as well. Possibly they
were in the ravines at Blendon.

Warblers - both had a few Redstarts, Magnolia Warblers, and
ComYellowthroats, but Sharon Woods added a Blackpoll and a Wilson's. It's
been a feeble Fall for warblers so far.

Grosbeaks, Buntings - nada for either park
