I spent a couple hours birding yesterday at Columbia Reservation and did not
see the purple gallinule. It was a beautiful evening and I enjoyed watching
and listening to many other species. Highlights were great-crested, eastern
kingbird, and willow flycatchers, Baltimore orioles, yellow and common
yellowthroat warblers, red-eyed and warbling vireos, and a couple green
herons.
