Amazing morning at Denison. It took awhile before I found a flock but suddenly the place was jumping. There seemed to be a thrush fallout—I think I had at least 5 Swainson’s chasing each other about with at least one singing & I spotted 1 or 2 Gray-cheeked mixed in. As things were winding down, I spotted my FOS Hermit thrush in the same area. Catbirds & Towhees were also enjoying the berries.

The warbler highlight was a gorgeous male Hooded Warbler perched close & singing! He just glowed in the morning sun. A N Parula was singing both a dawn song & its more typical song and a Com Yellowthroat was singing as well. Prob the most warbler song I’ve ever heard in Sept!

I got to Morris Woods later than usual but there were a few warblers around but no thrushes. Go figure.
