Denison was pretty slow this morning altho I had lovely views of a Black-throated Green but Morris Woods had more to offer. I found myself in the midst of a mixed flock there of about 20 birds as soon as I stepped onto a trail by the parking lot. The flock moved thru rapidly but stayed fairly low. I missed some but TN seemed to the most numerous—the winner was a stunning Black-throated Blue male that perched up twice for me. Saw a female later at another spot. Flock included a lovely male Am Redstart. the flock vanished in less than 5 minutes & I only saw 1-3 warblers at a time after that.

A surprise at Morris was a Rose-breasted Grosbeak female perched atop a dead snag. Also had an optimal viewing angle on a Red-bellied WP—could actually see the red belly.
