I scouted a few areas in this southeast Columbus suburb today for the
Columbus CBC, and found lots of birds active in the cool morning. I
stopped at Blacklick Woods MetroPark as well as 2 Reynoldsburg City Parks -
Civic Park and Pine Quarry. All had interesting birds, but the major
highlights were:

Black-cr.Night Heron - an immature was along Blacklick Creek in Civic Park,
a very unusual place for one.

Red-shouldered Hawk - couldn't find any at Blacklick Woods, but an adult
was soaring over Pine Quarry

Brown Creeper - none at Blacklick Woods, but singles were at Civic Park and
Pine Quarry.

Winter Wren - 1 was calling from deep in the old quarry at Pine Quarry

Mockingbird - at least one was at Civic Park, a typical wintering location

Pine Siskins - 2 pairs were at different areas of Blacklick Woods, one pair
hanging around the Nature Center feeders, another in the picnic area.
