Hello,
Sorry for the late message-I didn't arrive home until later this evening with no access to the internet. A pond and surrounding land near the corner of Church and Couchman Roads in Champaign County (1/3 mile from Siegenthaler-Kaestner Esker State Nature Preserve) was bustling with activity this afternoon, containing at least 5 Ross's Geese, 17 Greater White-Fronted Geese, 4 Cackling Geese, 46 Snow Geese and approximately 350 Canada Geese. A few Mallards were in the mix as well as a single Ring-Necked Duck, the latter which I didn't realize was there until reviewing photos at home. The road the pond is on is lightly traveled and set back a hundred yards, so hopefully they'll remain for a bit.
Stefan Minnig
