I had an excellent morning/early afternoon at Conneaut harbor today.  I tallied 14 species of ducks and 6 species of shorebirds, both good totals for late October.  Highlights were: gadwalls, Am. wigeon, n. pintail, canvasback, greater scaup, lesser scaup, surf scoter, 2 black scoters, long-tailed duck, hooded merganser, common merganser, red-breasted mergansers, ruddy ducks, Am. coots, semipalmated plover, ruddy turnstone, red knot, 14 sanderlings, dunlins, greater yellowlegs, Bonaparte's gulls, great black-backed gull, 220 double-crested cormorants, bald eagles, 2 merlins, and Am. pipit.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
