Taking a busmans holiday, we visited these adjoining parks along the
Stillwater River north of Dayton. The Lake at Englewood, really a flood
pool of the Stillwater River, had a good mix of mudflat & water, so it had
attracted a bevy of herons, egrets, and shorebirds. It's clearly better
than anything we have around Columbus right now. Included in the haul were:

90 Great Blue Herons
32 Great Egrets
1 Green Heron
20 Killdeer,
10 Pectoral Sandpipers
6 Least Sandpipers
30 Semipalmated Sandpipers
20+ Lesser yellowlegs
100+ shorebirds just too far to ID

Landbirds weren't nearly as interesting, mostly because we weren't on site
until after 10 AM. Hikes around the falls trail at Englewood, Aullwood
Gardens, and the Aullwood Audubon Preserve found many expected residents,
but no obvious migrants. Dayton-area birders have quite the excellent
birding site here.
