Ken,

I live in Stow and bird around Silver Springs/Bow Wow Beach and Stow Community Garden almost every day and live at nearby Darrow Lake. The Turkey Vulture numbers have been high for weeks. There is a pair of fledgling Red-Tailed Hawks at Stow Community Garden, and those Turkey Vultures do NOT like those new raptors in their territory. The day they fledged, there were TUVU all over that communication tower trying to intimidate the fledglings. They returned to that tower for several days but finally gave up on the intimidation tactics.

I think your numbers are a tiny bit higher than I usually see, but not by much. They love to hang out around the brush/mulch area at the top of the hill at Stow Community Gardens net to the EnviroScience building.

Question: is it time for the turkey vultures to begin 'flocking up'?  Yesterday, over Silver Springs park in Stow, there was a kettle of TVs of at least 2 dozen, probably more that i couldn't see.  I'm used to seeing TVs throughout the area, just not in that concentration.  Another member of the dog-park group has mentioned them roosting in the trees and on the roofs in his condo community.
