Well, back from vacation - time to start my survey again. I know habitat changes,
Wasn't expecting it that quick though! Looks better in the quarry for shorebirds. Only there’s a mud berm blocking views from the street. Oh well. Still quite doable,
Right now the western end is the best spot to view the quarry from. The river was
Fantastic with sand bars and low water areas for shorebirds to feed in!
I could not refind the Ruddy Turnstone or Baird’s. But the White rumped continues.
My numbers -
1 Semipalm Plover
33 Killdeer
17 Least
1 WR sandpiper - county bird!
2 Pecs
5 Semipalm Sandpipers
2 Greater Yellowlegs
2 Lesser
I committed to afternoons for the survey. Will be difficult with the new viewing
Conditions……. Oh well.
Looking forward to
Sandra Keller
