Downright warm today. Birds a bit more active.

A Hermit Thrush practically landed on my shoulder—flew in to perch on a branch right by the narrow trail barely an arm’s length away. Don’t know which of us was more startled.

Later I saw a richly-colored Fox Sparrow that was not as confiding but I got good looks. Only other sparrow White-throated. A male Towhee seen and heard.

Also saw 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers which I haven’t seen there for awhile.

A Red-tailed was perched out in the big field and then pounced on something. It either ate something while on the ground or it missed as nothing was in its talons when it flew out.

O/w just the usual winter birds.
