I was in the area more for business than birding but spent a little time at these spots today

Not that many birders go to clear Creek this time of year but if you’re thinking of going, know that several trails are closed b/c of toppled trees. Must have been a pretty impressive storm recently. Hemlock & chestnut trails were open along w/the creekside trails but tulip tree & prairie Warbler trails are closed as well as the picnic area just below the top parking lot.

Quiet bird wise but I saw a lovely Juv male Scarlet Tanager that was an odd orangey red that looked pretty jazzy against his black wings (chestnut trail). Cooperative B&W Warbler on Hemlock trail. It was fanning its tail like a Redstart which was interesting. Couldn’t figure out if it was a Juv begging or what. Heard La WT, Ovenbird, Wood Thrush. Saw a hermit Thrush.

At Logan Lk, I saw Juv wood ducks & a pack of young mallards. Great show when an ad Bald Eagle flipped almost upside down as it harassed an Osprey in flight.

Also saw a young Orchard Oriole.

Only herons were 3 Great Blues.
