Late today, around 6:00 pm I saw two merlins in Highland Park Cemetery. I was coming back
from the pond on the golf course when I stopped to count another wave of C. Geese, bringing
the total to well over 300. But one bird, flying alone, low, directly towards me turned out to be an adult
Bald Eagle....a cemetery first.

Then, in the maple by the oil tanks where the merlins were last winter, I saw one bird, plucking
it's kill, a robin. Another merlin flew in and perched on a nearby branch and was quickly run off.
Section 27. (Clunky new markers, placed this year, make it easier to identify the sections.)

Inga Schmidt
