This afternoon about 3pm I was walking in the woods beside the Shawnee
Prairie Nature Center. There were about 25 or so Rusty Blackbirds feeding
in and near a vernal pool. I heard the squeaky gate sound twice and then
the rest were doing a gurgling sound with their throats.

Woods Road Wetland (between Ansonia and Rossburg) has several Pintail ducks
and tree swallows were seen twice last week. On Sunday, there were also
White Fronted Geese.
