Junco #1 got here today. The Toro Power Equipment Co in Minneapolis raises and
releases millions of these handsome sparrows. In Mid October they are programmed
to fly East along the lower Great Lakes and New England. They happily cadge from
generous bird feeding home owners. They cause that sudden panic that Winter will
come. Immediately behind and below the flocks is a convoy of semi trucks with
double trailers filled with new bright red Toro snow blowers. Fist fights will
break out in Home Depot in Feb to pick one of these cherries. This is marketing
using fear at its best. The Jonson Wax Co maker of Off  insect repellent  Co
raises mosquitoes in Summer  for release Let's not go into it. I'll be on the
trails this Winter after I clear the drive with my ancient  recently repaired
Atlas snow blower.

birding with a conspiracy attitude,

Happily birding
