      Fellow bird listeners,
Heard my first woodcock tonight at about 6:55 PM. I was in my garden wrangling chickens when I heard three distinct flights. Might well have been just one bird, but I’ll take it. Last year this meant I would hear them for the following six or seven days, and even see them a few times. Hopefully that will be the case again. We have a small prairie just above the garden that is the perfect dance floor for these avian hoofers.
