I successfully had 4 raptor species today, (from my couch!). Three Northern
harriers (2 males and one female), one adult Bald eagle fly over, a
hovering American kestrel, and a sitting Red-tailed hawk. My wife and son
also had a red fox move through the yard when I ran my son's friend home at
noon. I'm going to listen for Barred and Great-horned owls later and
hopefully add to the day. That's pretty good for no real effort. I have a
nice start for a January 100 and Christmas Counts the next two days. The
Port Clinton Snowy Owl is in my count area tomorrow! Thanks for the post.
Happy New Year to everyone and hope you all have a great year of birding.
