The warmer temperatures in Columbus keep the trees leafed out a bit later than surrounding areas, so they might attract migrant forest birds later than nearby areas. I tested this by hitting several parks along this urban river in Columbus: Antrum Lake, Whetstone Park, and the Olentangy Wetland Research Area (on the north end of the OSU campus). There were lots of temperate migrants, but nothing that different from what others have reported over the last few days. Notables included:

Woodpeckers - little other than the expected red-bellies & Downies, with an occasional Hairy

Flycatchers, Swallows - nothing

Creepers - 2-3 at every stop, so they're on the move

Wrens - LOTS of Carolinas, but also had Winter Wrens at Antrum and Whetstone

Vireos - 1 Blue-headed was hanging out with chickadees at Whetstone

Thrushes - Single Hermit thrushes at every stop

Warblers - nothing but Yellow-rumps, but quite a few of them

Sparrows - LOADS of White-throats, and numbers of Songs as well, at all 3 stops. Fields at Antrum and Whetstone, plus 2 Swamps at the OWRP.

Blackbirds - small #s of Redwings at all 3 sites.

Finches - flocks of Goldfinches in the small prairie plantings at Whetstone and OWRP.
