 Fellow snowbound birders,

About the only thing good that I can find about 7 inches of snow on February 1 is the 26 species of birds I had at my feeders by 10:00 this morning. Those included rusty and red winged blackbirds, fox and field sparrow and 3 sapsuckers.
There used to be friendly competitions for the most yard birds on a snowy weekend. Since this appears to be a snowy weekend, I’ll send some woodworking to anyone who beats my total. Make that the person with the highest total. I think a snowman turned from windfall wood would be appropriate. Go for it., and don’t count your chickens.
