Maybe not drama per say but certainly an interesting interaction between 2 crows & a Pileated WP this morning in my backyard.

Two crows kept chasing one Pileated. Every time the Pileated landed on a trunk, the crows would harass it until it flew to another tree. Pretty soon it was just one crow doing the chasing. Both birds vocalizing some.

At one point, the Pileated outfoxed the crow by landing on a thick tree & kept moving around the trunk so it was always opposite from the crow. It was amusing to watch the crow flying around the trunk trying to get at the Pileated.

Eventually they both flew off towards the creek. Couldn’t figure out if it was some weird territory thing or whether it was actually more of a game.
