Sharon Woods MetroPark, Westerville OH 1/11/2022
9:30am - 11:15am
One Canada goose, great blue heron – that was all that was on the lake, which was almost completely frozen over except for one little patch in the middle. So weird to be here and not see a throng of geese.

Thomas Trail off lake: Flock of about 25-30 Juncos, Red bellied woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, yellow rumped warblers (8-10), song sparrow, Cardinals,Blue Jays, jumped three flickers all together (probably saw 10 total), Carolina chickadees, tufted titmouse, white throated sparrow, Pileated woodpecker (saw one and heard another one at same time), Red tailed hawk, mourning dove, red breasted nuthatch

Apple Ridge picnic area/Children’s Natural Play area:
Juncos (approx 20), blue jays, red bellied woodpeckers, tufted titmouse, cardinals,Carolina chickadees, white breasted nuthatch, two red tailed hawks (perched), solitary starling

Grassland areas very quiet this morning.
