The bird cooperated this morning! Not close - We had far, but many views -
both on the water as it preened, in flight, and harassing other birds.
First spotted by Susan at 8:15. It was nice seeing the wing pattern and
the bird in action! Now I count it. Thanks again to the great photographers
out there who managed the needed diagnostic shots!

We watched it from the south beach. It was between the island and the
structure near the dam. Of course when we decided to hit the north boat
ramp - these are all hotspots btw - it had gone. Wherever it goes!

Ohio bird and bird 219 for my SW Ohio big year. Which includes Adams,
Brown, Highland, Clermont, Clinton, Warren, Butler, and Hamilton counties.
Phew.

I hit the Bridal Trail - stayed in the open field area with the picnic table. Had
a small migrant flock. Magnolias, RE Vireos, Gnatcatchers, Parulas. Nothing
new for the big year. Getting harder! Even with all my big misses. I still can
hit 250. I have to see these common misses though! LBBG, RB Nuthatch,
Purple Finch, OS Fly, Western and WR Sandpipers. BT Green Warbler.....
Etc. Etc. Plus I am not sure how common some of these are.

Good birding all.
