Success! I birded the north woods at Fernald this morning. Which is Butler, and
I managed to be at the butler start by 9:00 ish. Birds are still singing. And active.
I actually saw! a female Cerulean. Yea! Another birder came along. He was hearing
one singing. Sigh…… well, I can hear this if close. The male wasn’t close! A bonus
Was a singing L. Waterthrush. I was worried about that one. It’s like I thought, they
Are starting to sing again. Second broke time. Maybe even changing the breeding
Spot. 181. Plus I am learning the county which is what I wanted. Lots there singing
And seen. Please see my ebird report for more details if desired.
I need Hooded for the big year. Hueston Woods this Sat. perhaps. I have some
Botany locations in Adams and Fairfield counties picked out also. Time is running
Out! Hooded search first. I figure I have until mid June for singing.
Nature notes - insects are starting to get loud. As was a trail weed whacker person
At Fernald. I was not happy with that! He moved slowly on…. Yes, I know, the trails
Have to be kept mowed.
Good birding all.
