The Holmes Cty Snowy Owl was seen well today at the same farm. At one point, it flew to another farm & perched on a rooftop about 1/4 mile away, then flew back. Also had a pair of Red-taileds, a kestrel & one TV. Did not see the N Harrier that had been interacting w/the owl the last time I was here.
The owner continues to be v welcoming & there are signs thanking birders for being respectful of his property & the Owl. Let’s make sure we continue to be welcome here. Of note, there is a sign-in sheet as well as a donation box by the first barns you come to.
Just a reminder, as posted previously, the owner has requested no visitors tomorrow until 1pm.
I went home via Funk Bottoms hoping to see some Short-eared Owls but no luck. I did have a few more kestrels along the way and was v happy to have a close flyby of about 30 Tundra Swans, calling—wonderful.
Many ducks on the far shore of the ponds but I was tired of being cold so I didn’t scan them. No Sandhills seen or heard.
