I birded at Conneaut harbor this morning from about 7:00 AM till noon. Best bird was a juv. red knot which was present about an hour in the early morning. Kite boarders took over the spit from about 10:00 on, so the best birding was early on. I ended up with 10 species of shorebirds (again). Other highlights included: 11 common mergansers, 3 black-bellied plovers, semipalmated plover, 7 sanderlings, 2 least sandpipers, pectoral sandpiper, 7 semipalmated sandpipers, short-billed dowitcher, 3 spotted sandpipers, 21 Bonaparte's gulls, 19 common terns, osprey, and 7 bald eagles.
