A quick trip to this State Park north of Columbus found quite a few diurnal migrants on the move.  I split 2 hours between New Galena (on the southeast shore) and the Beach & Visitor's Center (on the SW shore).  Waterfowl were still a no-show, but it's less surprising here since the Lake is hunted.  Notable birds included:

Waterfowl - the only new ones were a flock of 10 Coots and a single Pied-billed Grebe, all off New Galena.

Osprey - a late one was gliding past New Galena Boat launch early in the morning

Gulls - the beach flock was 80 Ring-bills, 16 Bonaparte's, and 2 Herring

Shorebirds - nothing but 20 Kildeer

BlueJays, Vireo - still some movement of Jays, with 12 at New Galena and another 6 at the Visitor's Center.  New Galena had a late-ish Blue-headed Vireo

Wren, Kinglets - not much at New Galena, but the Visitor's Center had 1 Winter Wren, 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, and 4+ Golden-crowns

Robins - highlight of the morning, with small, high flocks passing south overhead all morning.  Totals were 150 at New Galena and 120 at the Visitor's Center.

E.Bluebirds - flyovers, with 2 at New Galena and 3 at the Visitor's Center

Pipits,Larks - 3 of each.  The Horned Larks were hanging around the Beach, while the Pipits were flyovers there and at New Galena

Cedar Waxwings - another berry-eater on the move, with fly-over flocks totalling 150 for both spots.

Warblers - nothing but Yellow-rumps, about 6-8 in each location

Sparrows - lots of White-throateds, with 40 at New Galena and 30 at the Visitor's Center.  Other species were thin, with 1 Chipping, 4 Field, 1 Swamp, 1 Fox, and 5 Juncos.

Blackbirds - flyover flocks totaling 25 Redwings and 4 Grackles, so the bulk of them may still be yet to come.

Finches - 2 PURPLE FINCHES at New Galena were the First-of-Season here, while flocks of Goldfinches at NEw Galena and the Visitor's Center may presage a movement of these birds.
