Since the winds had not picked up yet, I decided to try to see the White-winged Crossbill again in hopes of getting some more pictures. Unfortunately a male Sharp-shinned hawk is strafing
the feeders every 10 minutes or so. It comes in just as the birds are starting to get enough nerve to come back into the feeders.

I stayed a little over half an hour and figured it wasn’t really much point in staying after the hawk came in for the 3rd time. The crossbill was seen early this morning but after the sharp-shinned showed up, Mr. Troyer said that it had not been seen again. Very few birds are coming into the feeders which is understandable.

On my walk this morning at Denison, I watched a Red-tailed adult pounce on a vole from a low perch then fly off with it. Also had 2 pairs of Wood Ducks & 3 mallards (2 males, one female).

Song, Field & WT Sparrows. Towhees.
