I hadn’t been to Clear Creek for a while so I thought I would check for early migrants before the rain set in. Looks like they’ve had some major flooding over the winter. I was rewarded with FOS Louisiana Waterthrush, a single bird singing near the Hemlock Trail. Had brief looks as it bobbed alongside the stream.

I also heard a distant vireo from the Hemlock Trail. It didn’t sing for long but the song had a slower cadence than Red-eyed. I was leaning towards Blue-headed rather than Yellow-throated altho that trail is good for both—didn’t hear enough song to be certain. Not sure which one is more apt to be there in early April. E Phoebes. Lots of Towhees. Pileated WP and a few Tree Swallows.

 Later I had another Louisiana Waterthrush at Wahkeena where I also briefly heard a Yellow-throated Warbler, also FOS for me. Brown Thrasher. A couple White-throated Sparrows were singing. Field and Song Sparrows, more towhees. Juncos.
