Early mornings are proving difficult for me, but late afternoon - dusk is
Good. And birds are active then too. Oak Glen has a lot of weedy fields.
And this afternoon the birds were actively feeding in them. My goal
was the Lark Sparrows - July bird! They were quite active. Some other
Highlights were the singing Wood Thrush and Scarlet Tanagers. And
A Parula 5 ft. In front of me - eye level! 1 Least Sandpiper - shorebirds have
Started. I scanned that pond area well for Limpkin. Nuttin.
I should be hitting Butler for my big year. August.
Nature notes - this place was loaded with butterflies even with the cloudy
Conditions and time of day - basically 6:00 PM!
Good birding all.
