I was able to find the reported N Shrike today in Perry Cty. I had distant but clear views of it w/binos from the road as it perched on top of a small tree. I got some record photos but just as I was getting my scope on it, it dropped out of view & then a light rain started. I hung around awhile but the rain continued so I left. It looked like an adult bird altho I haven’t looked at my photos yet. I’ve seen N Shrike in Ohio once before at Cuyahoga V NP. It, too, was at a distance but I could see the brownish tinge & some streaking on that bird. This one was gray & white w/a narrow mask.

I almost didn’t make one more drive down the county rd but I’m sure glad I did.

I did not see the Snow Goose or Rough-legged Hawk reported in the same general area recently.

Raptors: N Harrier, Red-tailed, Red-shouldered, Cooper’s, Am Kestrel. Black Vulture.

I saw a N Mockingbird early on and was initially excited when I saw a flash of gray & white but that bird was indeed a mocker. Distant Great Blue Heron.
