My wife and I birded Blackfork Swamp and Anderson Meadows this morning.
Birds of note:
Blackfork Swamp:
Prothonotary Warbler (2)- FOY and new county bird, #200
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Baltimore Oriole pair
Anderson Meadows:
Sandhill Crane- FOY and new county bird, #201.
I was photography Henslow’s Sparrows, and my wife asks, “what is that?!” I almost needed a change of pants. Bird was walking in the middle of the gravel road at the first intersection past the last gate. We watched as it then flew west, and watched it grazing in the fields before it eventually flew out of site. Multiple looks and photos taken. Wow. What a treat!
Blue Grosebeak (3)
Grasshopper Sparrow (3) probably more..
Henslow’s Sparrow (9) probably way more.
Yellow-breasted Chat (8) probably more..
What a day!
