Cleveland Metroparks Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation has been in the news lately due to the large number of Bald Eagles seen along a stretch of approx. 2.5 miles going north and south of CanalWay Nature Center.
Number of sightings vary from 2 - 20 along that stretch. From the visitor center you can walk south along the Towpath 1.25 miles to the NEORSD outflow (41.422086,-81.648706) or north 1.5 miles to where this years successful eagles nest is located.
A variety of hawk species have also been seen in this area; Rough-legged Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk
We also have had one Pine Siskin visiting our feeders for the last couple of days.
