I found myself in Liberty Township (Powell and north) today, so I made some brief stops at Liberty Township Park and Scioto Ridge Woods (also known as Big Bear Woods, for those who remember Big Bear Farms). Best birds were flyovers at Liberty Township:
Sandhill Cranes - 2 flying fairly low to the northeast. This is near some aboveground reservoir, where they may have been headed, so folk in the vicinity might keep their ears open tomorrow.
N.Harrier - 1 juvenile soaring north. Always a treat to see these around the edge of suburbia.
The park also had the usual woodpeckers & flock birds, including a lively flock of Juncos & Tree Sparrows. Scioto Ridge had similar flock birds, along with 7-8 Blue Jays and a few Yellow-rumped Warblers.
