Loaded as every place I have been to lately! This is a small lake
An old Borrow pit? I think I have that term correct. Good for roosting
and feeding with the fish in the lake. Water was all open.
highlights -
5 drake Red breasted Mergnasers.
132 Redheads
2 Canvasback
25 Lesser Scaup
2 Canvasback
1 Horned Grebe
22 Coot
2 Killdeer!
Etc. My planned 15 minutes turned into 50 so I didn't make Hawley Rd.
in Clermont for another Ross's try. yes the three are still there!
Maybe Wed. now. Tues. afternoon I will hopefully hit Armleder.
I have heard it closes in floods though. Sigh. My inat survey is already
been going slow with this snow!
I hit Jim Terrell Park quick after Lake Barber. Just to check. No flooding
in my favorite floodplain area there. Yet. But I didn't have many birds at all.
I presume the snow forced birds onward earlier. But I have a long ways
to go learning timing and movements here!
Good birding all.
