Well, I didn’t get out early! That wasn’t the goal. Butterflies, botany, and odes
at the Lynx Prairie were the goal. Finally tracked down a Northern metalmark
this year. Nothing like a good limestone area!

Anyway, I didn’t get started until 11:15. Stuff was still singing! Do Red eyed Vireos
Ever stop! I had a Yellow throated Vireo also. Common yellowthroats, yellow throated
Warbler, Prairie warblers, wood thrush - all singing. Eastern pewees. Willow fly.
My highlight was 2 Turkeys that I flushed as I walked out. Adams bird! Someday
I will flush some Grouse…..

I am slowly getting Adams up to 100. Turkey was 97. I ran my needs list for
July. Number one is RT Hummer. Not today! Maybe some feeders at the houses
At Adams Lake state park. I want to get back there for odes. Number 4 is brown
Headed cowbird. Number 6 is Rock Pigeon!? With all my driving through farm
Areas - I still need that one.

Merlin notes - Merlin makes mistakes. Especially with poor audio and partial
Songs. Most birders are aware now. It’s a great tool! Just don't count something
Without being very sure! It helped friends and I in North Dakota. Spotted Towhee.
It did not register with us. Once Merlin said Spotted Towhee, we all nodded and
Said yes! And tracked it down!

Good birding all.
