No luck! It seems I missed the target species by a few minutes..... Another
birder was on it as I drove up. Congrats to her! The Jaeger flies off
to the east after showing irregularly at south beach. I spent over an
hour here, then hit the Tate boat ramp briefly. Nuttin.....I can try Monday
morning early if reported over the weekend.

Thoughts Donald? Where could it be going?

Alas with my chase this afternoon after work and house stuff, I won't be able
to get out early Sat. Mid morning will still have passerines around. A lot came
in today. I was thinking Shawnee Lookout - be good to explore in the fall,
but Ellis Wetlands will probably win out! I am serious about my big year.
Ellis can have the shorebirds plus passerines.

Nature notes - some tiny insect was all over east fork - south beach. Not biting,
but swarming around me. Anyone know what they are? Bird food!

Good birding all.
