I stopped by a few sites around the lower end of Hoover Reservoir, focusing
on the dam, but also making stops at Maxtown Boat launch and Inniswood
MetroPark. Migration is still barely a whisper here, though many of the
residents have quieted or left. Notables this afternoon included:

cormorants - the only common waterbird, with small groups at many places in
the lower reservoir
ChimneySwifts - small flocks in many locations; the dam had 15-20.
Red-headed Woodpeckers - family group (2 adult, 1 juv.) was around the
field below the dam
Pileated Woodpecker - 1 was still drumming in the woods at Inniswood
Flycatchers - Pewees widespread; also had Acadian at Inniswood and Great
Crested below dam.
Swallows - small flocks of Barn Swallows at many places along shore; dam
had 12-15, plus a laggard Cliff Swallow.
Vireos - Red-eyed at several spots, plus a Warbling below the dam
Gnatcatchers - a few in many locations; the field below the dam had 3
around tis edge
Warblers - the only ones were a Magnolia and a Wilson's around the field
below the dam

Visitors to Hoover Dam should be aware that the Water Dept is repairing the
top of the spillway, so you likely won't be able to walk along the dam
crest this weekend.
