I made a visit last Monday to Scioto Grove Metro Park, a one year old park south of Columbus - I don't think I've ever seen any postings on here of anyone birding there, so I decided to check it out. You can google the park and read about its trails, etc. I'm not going to put a list of species here, but I think birders should start regularly checking this park out. I saw a Pileated Woodpecker before I got out of my vehicle, then walked 30 feet and saw an American Redstart. There's 8 miles of trails along the river through a mature riparian forest - migrants and locals were out in force. I couldn't access a lot of these trails due to the recent high water - but still got on some. The river was still quite high last week but I still got to watch six Northern Waterthrush work a small island. The upland areas are meadows, wet meadows and small ponds (saw a Coot on one). And the bluff edge areas were quite active (Baltimore Orioles). I know I'll be a regular visitor here; I only got to see a small part of it last week.
Whetstone Park in Columbus: The Red Shouldered Hawk nest was active last Friday when I checked - the chicks are hatched (I've seen two) and the parents were feeding them. Its in a Sycamore right at the Adena Brook parking area. Easy to find.
